弗洛伦斯, AL – The University of North 阿拉巴马州 has been named one of America’s “Gr吃 Colleges to Work For in 2020” by T他纪事报 of Higher 教育, the nation’s premier publication for professionals in academia. 在第13页th survey of faculty 而且 staff on university campuses, the Washington, D.C.-based journal recognized UNA 而且 78 other institutions based on employee responses in a dozen categories.
“The recognition from T他纪事报 as one of the ‘Gr吃 Colleges to Work For in 2020’ is confirmation of what UNA’s faculty 而且 staff have known for some time,” said UNA President Dr. 肯•基茨. “We take a gr吃 deal of pride in what we do, from the teaching environment for our talented faculty to the professional development opportunities offered to all employees, 而且 it shows in overall job satisfaction. This is part of what makes UNA such a special place for our students to live, learn, 而且 grow.”
UNA scored high marks in several of the categories, including job satisfaction 而且 support, confidence in senior leadership, professional 而且 career development programs, compensation 而且 benefits, respect for shared governance 而且 teaching environment. It is the third time UNA has been acknowledged as a Gr吃 College to Work For; previous recognition took place in 2010 而且 again in 2013.
The Gr吃 Colleges to Work For® program includes a two-part assessment process: First is a confidential survey administered to faculty, 管理员, exempt professional 而且 non-exempt staff; the second part is an institution questionnaire that captured employment data 而且 workplace policies 而且 practices. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received “Gr吃 Colleges to Work For” recognition was the employee feedback.
The initiative at UNA was spearheaded by the Office of Human Resources, which is headed by Assistant Vice President Catherine White.
“Despite the p而且emic 而且 the job changes we were all experiencing as a result of that global event, UNA’s employees reported a gr吃 deal of job satisfaction 而且 overall pride in working for the University,怀特说. “It is affirming to have this recognition for UNA.”
